The Government of Japan, through its MEXT Scholarship Program, invites applications from students in The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau for the 2026 academic year. These scholarships provide full financial support for undergraduate, research, technology, and specialized training studies in Japan.

• Eligible Countries: The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau
• Scholarship Types:
  • Research (Master’s/PhD)
  • Undergraduate Studies (Bachelor’s degree)
  • College of Technology
  • Specialized Training College
• Selection Process:
  • Submission of complete application documents.
  • Written exam and interview scheduled for end-June / early July 2026 at the Embassy of Japan in Senegal and in Praia, Cabo Verde.
  • Exact date and location will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.
