Programme overview Home-Grown Solutions Agribusiness Accelerator
L’Accélérateur d’Agribusiness de Solutions Locales (HGSA-A) is a regional COMESA initiative for growth-stage agribusinesses. It supports innovative, scalable solutions that address food security, climate change and agricultural trade challenges in Africa.
The programme aims to strengthen investment readiness, fundraising capabilities and regional trade within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Eligibility criteria of Home-Grown Solutions Agribusiness Accelerator
- Be a legally registered business operating in a COMESA member state.
- Be at the growth stage and African-owned or African-led.
- Have a proven, innovative business model, with an annual turnover of around 100 000 USD, although this benchmark may vary by country.
- Provide audited financial statements for at least the last three years and have basic compliance structures in place.
- Demonstrate potential to access regional or international markets and clear prospects for scaling up.
- Promote the inclusion of young people, women, persons with disabilities and refugees, particularly through employment or the services offered.
- Contribute to food security, nutrition and sustainable agribusiness growth.
- Apply practices that support green growth, climate change mitigation or adaptation, and the sustainable use of resources.

Eligible sectors of Home-Grown Solutions Agribusiness Accelerator
Businesses must operate in inclusive, high-potential agribusiness value chains, excluding primary production.
