About the Her Startup programme
Her Startup is opening applications for its second cohort for women-led African businesses that integrate technology. Up to ten female founders will be selected to take part in a 12-week Founder Institute accelerator.
Support and funding through the Her Startup programme
- Programme participation fees covered and stipends for selected female founders.
- Mentoring, networking and support to prepare for discussions with investors.
- An opportunity for participants who successfully complete the programme to pitch their businesses for seed funding of up to 5 000 US dollars.
This funding is revenue-based and convertible: it is not a non-repayable grant. Admission to the programme does not guarantee any investment.
Eligibility criteria for the Her Startup programme
- Be a female founder, co-founder or chief executive aged 18 to 35.
- Be based in an African country and run a business that integrates technology.
- Have a minimum viable product (MVP) or a product already on the market.
- Have generated at least 500 US dollars in monthly revenue for at least six months.
- Be able to dedicate at least 20 hours per week to the programme for 12 weeks.
Female founders from French-speaking Africa are encouraged to apply.
Documents to prepare
- Passport or national identity document.
- Business presentation in PDF format, limited to 15 slides.
- Proof of revenue for the past six months.
- Business registration documents indicating the applicant’s role.
How to apply
Applications are free. Selected participants must sign the Founder Institute’s equity participation agreement to join its programme.
